Last week, Youth Affairs Minister Ryan Smith announced Rainbow Network would be included in the $3.6 million, four year initiative webWise. Rainbow Network joins forces with Centre for Multicultural Youth, the Centre for Adult Education, the Koorie Heritage Trust, Women's Health Grampians and Youth Disability Advocacy Service to develop community-based, youth-led projects to tackle cyber-bullying and promote positive online experiences for all young people.

Mind the Gap/ SHADE (Sexual Health and Diversity Enterprise) community grants are designed to support innovative and creative projects encouraging young people to think about the choices they make about their sexual health and to celebrate sexual diversity in rural and regional areas!
Grants are only open to organisations that target young gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer people aged 25 and under in rural and regional Victoria, particularly Barwon South West, Grampians, Mallee and Central Goldfields.

Can technology help prevent mental illness in young people?
On Thursday 18th August, Associate Professor Jane Burns, CEO of the Cooperative Research Centre for Young People, Technology and Wellbeing delivered an address to the National Press Club on the topic "The Happiness Highway: Leveraging technologies to improve wellbeing for young Australians".
In her address, Professor Burns spoke of our need to find technology solutions for young people who belong to vulnerable groups such as SSAY. She also spoke of the need to work on youth led online initiatives to stamp out homophobia.
