IDAHO Footy Fever!

The theme for IDAHO this year on May 17th is “Speaking about Silence – Homophobia in the Sports World”. Among the activities taking place there is a great display of solidarity from the AFL and football fans. AFL players and officials are participating in a “This is Oz”-style campaign, having their photos taken while holding placards denouncing homophobia. The images will be used on posters and online.

GLHV and Rainbow Network are also creating a series of posters with images of mother/son, father/son, mother/daughter or father/daughter couples dressed in their team colours in a football related setting, such as having a pie together at half time, or driving home in the car with scarves out the window.

The tag line will be “Oh, that’s okay! For a moment I thought you were going to tell me you were changing to Collingwood!” – or some other rival team and below the logos of GLHV and PFlag with links for further information.
