Midsumma Play about family diversity- 'Matilda's Project'
Written, acted, directed and produced by qualified primary and high school teachers, the play aims to break through the stereotypes and present a more balanced perspective of what constitutes a family.
Matilda's grade 1 teacher has set the class a project; to present about their families. Constantly bombarded with stereotypical images in books and media about what a family should look like, she is nervous about seeming different to her peers.
Through the sharing of books and personal stories, games, songs and art the audience is treated to a lighthearted, funny and inspiring experience that promotes inclusion.
Written and produced by Danny Gibbins and directed by Yma Zammit-Ross.
